Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 25, 2026
Ink Therapy HQ (“Ink Therapy HQ,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Ink Therapy HQ mobile application and the inktherapyhq.net website (together, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information. Email address, password (hashed), display name, profile photo, role (client or artist), and the city, state, or ZIP code you provide.
- Artist profile information (artists only). Studio details, tattoo styles, portfolio images, availability, pricing, and any other content you choose to publish.
- Consult and booking activity. Consult requests and the booking details you submit (including reference images), calendar entries, and the artists or studios you favorite.
- Health information (consult requests). Tattooing breaks the skin, so the consult form asks about conditions that affect whether and how an artist can work on you: allergies, skin conditions, blood disorders, heart conditions, medications that affect bleeding or healing, recent sunburn or cuts in the tattoo area, and whether you are pregnant or nursing. Pregnancy or nursing status is required; the rest are optional and you may leave them blank. We collect this only to pass to the artist you are contacting.
- Location. If you grant permission, we use your approximate device location to show nearby artists. You can disable this at any time in your device settings.
- Subscription information. If you subscribe to the artist tier, our payment processors (Apple App Store, Google Play, and RevenueCat) provide us with your subscription status. We do not receive or store your payment card details.
- Device and diagnostic information. App version, operating system, device type, and crash and error logs.
- Usage and analytics data. How you interact with the app — the screens you view, the features you use, and actions you take — collected through analytics tools to help us understand how the Service is used and improve it. This activity is linked to your account.
2. How we use information
- To operate the Service and provide its core features.
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To match clients with artists and process consult requests.
- To process and manage artist subscriptions.
- To communicate with you about your account or the Service.
- To improve the Service and diagnose problems.
- To analyze how the Service is used and measure performance.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. How we share information
We share information only as described below:
- With other users. Your public profile information (such as your name, display photo, and artist portfolio) is visible to other users of the Service.
- With the artist you contact. When you submit a consult request, the details you enter — including your reference images and the health information described above — are shared with that artist, so they can assess the work and perform it safely.
- With service providers. We use Supabase for database and authentication, Apple App Store and Google Play for distribution, RevenueCat for subscription management, PostHog for product analytics, and Sentry for crash and error reporting. These providers process information on our behalf and only for the purposes described in this policy.
- For legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights or the safety of our users.
- In a business transfer. If Ink Therapy HQ is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
We do not sell your personal information.
Health information you provide in a consult request is handled more narrowly than the rest of your data. It is shared only with the artist you send that request to. It is never included in analytics or crash reports, never used for advertising or profiling, and never sold.
4. Data retention
We retain account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes.
5. Your choices and rights
- Access and correction. You can review and update most profile information directly in the app.
- Deletion. You can request account deletion by emailing privacy@inktherapyhq.net.
- Location. You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings.
- Notifications. You can disable push notifications in your device settings.
6. Age requirement
The Service is intended for users 18 and older, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have received information from a minor, we will delete it and remove the account. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact us.
7. Security
We use industry-standard security practices, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and row-level security on our database. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information against unauthorized access.
8. International users
Ink Therapy HQ is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be processed in the United States.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy here with a new “last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
